This fall, Spokane is joining hands to make that truth visible.
Hands Across Spokane is a citywide invitation to come together in support of mental health, connection, and community care. Whether you’re a neighbor, business owner, healthcare provider, or advocate, there’s a place for you here.
Before the pandemic, Community-Minded Enterprises' Hands Across the Falls brought people in recovery together in a powerful act of visibility. Members of the community lined the Monroe Street Bridge to say, “We are here. We matter. And recovery is possible.”
Hands Across Spokane honors the legacy of Hands Across the Falls by taking what began on the Monroe Street Bridge and bringing it into our neighborhoods, our businesses, our city streets, and beyond.
Mental health means something different to each of us. It might look like depression, anxiety, burnout, trauma, stress, or substance use. No matter how it shows up, it affects all of us.
When we stand for health, connection, and care, we make Spokane stronger, together.
Starting in September and into early October, individuals, families, businesses, and organizations are invited to take part in a social campaign by sharing what mental health means to them, and who they stand beside. Using the hashtag #HandsAcrossSpokane, we’re inviting our community to post photos and stories showing themselves joining hands with friends, coworkers, or neighbors. In offices, parks, schools, places of worship, or anywhere they gather. Whether it’s a personal story, a moment of solidarity, or a message of support, each post becomes part of something bigger.
This movement culminates on Friday, October 10th, with our Hands Across Spokane resource fair on Shannon Avenue, outside our new Emerson-Garfield Mental Health Center. This free, family-friendly event from 11 AM to 4:30 PM features service providers, peer organizations, educators, employers, and community leaders. Alongside food, music, and activities, the fair creates a welcoming space for people to explore support options, connect with others, and celebrate the strength of a community that shows up for one another.
Hands Across Spokane isn’t just a campaign. It’s a movement to bring mental health into the light, and into every corner of our city.
But we can’t do it alone.
We’re looking for community sponsors and supporters to help make this effort visible, accessible, and powerful. Your support will directly fund materials for the social campaign, event logistics, outreach to our community, and the resource fair on October 10th, where hundreds of Spokane residents will gather to find connection, care, and support.
We offer a range of sponsorship opportunities, big and small. However you choose to take part, your support helps bring this movement to life
A one-time gift to Hands Across Spokane helps fund outreach, materials, and event costs, making it possible for more people to connect with resources, support, and each other.
We’re happy to answer questions, walk you through options, or help you get started.

This project is one of the ways Community-Minded Enterprises brings people together to spark change. By focusing on mental health and connection, we’re continuing our work to support communities across Washington—especially those that have historically been overlooked.
